Investment Game 2010 - Prize Winners

Finance Association proudly announces the recently concluded BAFA - Investment Game 2010 Prize Winners.

In the Highest Return on Investment section, Mr.Suneel Indupuru stood first with 0.58% return. At the end of May 2010 - Euro crisis brought down all the investments of the participants under water except Suneel.

In the Highest Sharpe Ratio section, Ms. Kirby Ung stood first with -0.34 Sharpe Ratio.

BAFA Team Congratulates the winners and wishes better luck for the Investment Game 2010 Participants.

Cash prize $125.00 will be distributed in the next BAFA Speaker / Social event.

The Sharpe ratio tells us whether a portfolio's returns are due to smart investment decisions or a result of excess risk. This measurement is very useful because although one

portfolio or fund can reap higher returns than its peers, it is only a good investment if those higher returns do not come with too much additional risk. The greater a portfolio's

Sharpe ratio, the better its risk-adjusted performance has been. A negative Sharpe ratio indicates that a risk-less asset would perform better than the security being analyzed. ¹

Dear All,

Finance Association would like to invite both Members and Non-members to participate in Winter Quarter Investment Game.

Investment Games starts on Mar^* 24^th and continues for the next 10 weeks . The enrollment details and rules are given below

For enrollment visit us at InvestmentGame.2010 to pay via paypal . Once enrolled an email with instructions on how to participate in the game will be mailed to you separately . To participate in the Investment Game members pay a nominal fee of 30$ , non-members pay a fee of 40$ with an option to become a lifetime member of Finance association for an extra 40$

Rules :

Rules of the game can be found at StockTrakTradeRules . More rules are available in BAFA.

The winners will be selected by our portfolio officer based on the highest return on investment and highest Sharpe ratio and a cash price of 125$ will be awarded to the winner in each category.

Finance Association would like to conduct Investment Game Competition in near future. Mr. Wayne Zhong, Portfolio Manager of BAFA, will conduct Mock Investment Portfolio Seminar. He is working as a Registered CSA at Oppenheimer & Co. Wayne led a 4-member team in the CFA portfolio challenge during the fall of 2008 and finished the competition with over a 400% return in less than a 3 month period. It was impressive indeed. Please join the Bay Area Finance Association Ice Cream Social on 30th Jan 2010.
